By taking the North Area of China that suffers water shortage as the study object, the three provinces,i.e.Hebei,Jilin and Ningxia are selected in accordance with the characteristics of the socio-economic developments and the endowments of resources in the regions of the North China, the North East China and the North West China, and then the correlations between urbanization and industrialization process and agricultural water use in all the provinces are analyzed on the basis of the relevant statistic data of 1997 ~ 2011.The result shows that the agricultural water use and its proportion in the total water use within all the regions concerned present the decreasing trends along with the developments of the urbanization and industrialization therein. In Hebei and Ningxia those suffer water shortage, the correlations between urbanization and industrialization process and agricultural water use are better, while the correlation is relatively lower in Jilin that is relatively rich in water resources.Furthermore,in Hebei and Jilin those are on relatively developed economic development level, the correlations between urbanization and industrialization process and the proportion of the agricultural water use are better, while the correlations are relatively lower in Ningxia that is on a relatively lower economic development level. The research results can provide a reference for balance allocation and reasonable scheduling,i.e.of agricultural water use.
