Analysis on benefits of efficient water-saving irrigation project in Suzhou District of Jiuquan

肃州区位于河西走廊西端,地处内陆,气候干燥,降雨稀少,蒸发强烈,为极端干旱区,属于典型的没有灌溉就没有农业生产的区域。随着经济社会的不断发展,各行各业对水资源的需求的不断加大,供需矛盾日益突出,合理开发利用有限的水资源显得尤为重要。近年来,肃州区大力发展高效节水灌溉,优化配置水资源取得了一定成效。

Suzhou District is located on the west end of Hexi Corridor. It is in the inland,which is characterized by dry climate,low rainfall and strong evaporation. Suzhou District is an extreme arid zone,which belongs to typical area that agricultural production depends on irrigation. Demands of all industries on water resources are increased continuously with the constant development of economy and society. Supply-demand contradiction is prominent increasingly. Rational development and utilization of limited water resources seems important particularly. In recent years,Suzhou District develops efficient water-saving irrigation greatly. Certain achievements have been achieved in optimal configuration of water resources.
