近几十年来,为应对当代环境,印度出现了诸多建筑实践,势不可挡。建筑师在思辨性、批判性和实用性的实践中取得了颇具意义的进步,他们已经意识到该行业的多元化需求及其所处环境的特殊性。尽管取得了这些成就,他们仍在努力扩展更多认同高设计品质的客户群,建筑设计的公共影响也需要再三重申。令人乐观且充满希望的是,建筑实践将通过构建具有社会相关性以及更深远意义的作品,植根于社会环境当中。

In recent decades,an overwhelming variety of architectural practices have emerged in India in response to contemporary conditions.Architects have made significant strides through speculative,critical and pragmatic practices.They are conscious of the multiple demands made on the profession and the specificities of the context in which they are building.Despite the accomplishments,they struggle to widen the constituency for good design and have to reiterate the public consequence of architecture repeatedly.The optimism and hope are that architectural practices would continue to stay relevant to the society by producing works of social relevance and deeper significance.
