Hegianwandweg is a practical case which technically demonstrates the idea of"semi-open".At the very start, the developer and the architects set flexibility as a certain objective. These houses use a special structural system consisting of the internal concrete core and timberwork on the fringe. The joints of the building components in the living areas are in typical dry-connecting mode. With the application of light materials, the inner space can be separated freely. In the business operations, the developer rationally gives it some"close"restrictions given the houses for rent only.Following this semi-open technical route, restricted diversity is employed as an artifice to adapt the market. This project successfully realises flexibility and avoids complexity in the construction process.
