Report on the Survey of Fuerling Grottoes in Tongjiang of Sichuan Province

四川省通江县首次发现唐代佛道合龛石窟,内容十分丰富,雕刻极其精美,造像构图完整,场面宏伟,布局合理,人物形象生动传神,具有珍贵的研究价值。

Fuerling Grottoes,in Tongjiang,Sichuan province,lies 500 meters to the north of White stone temple village in Wensheng.There are 18 niches and 246 statues as well as 1 piece of tablet with inscriptions on it.The total area of the grottoes is 109.9 square meters.Most of the statues are Buddhist ones,but there are also some statues combined with Buddhism and Taoism.All the statues are of rich details and exquisite carving,which can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty.
