《四库全书总目》(以下简称《总目》)中的私人采进本是指民间藏书家或在京朝廷官员以个人名义主动或奉旨送馆,并被采进《总目》中的书籍。90位献书人中,《总目》中收录的湖北籍献书人共四位,四位湖北籍献书人有两种身份:一是四库馆臣,二是在京官员。无疑,这四位献书人为《总目》的修纂补充了必要的书籍。
