Emphasizing the accumulation of basic knowledge to develop students’ sustainable learning abilities

本文论述了在民族地区应突出强调打好基础,培养学生的可持续学习能力的问题,指出这是在民族地区发展外语教育和实施<英语课程标准>的最基本的前提条件.

Based on 'the finding report of ELT in minority nationality regions in Yunnan', this paper states the importance of laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of students, which is, according to the author, the essential prerequisite to developing ELT and implementing 'the English Curriculum Standards' in minority nationality regions.
