语篇信息流动模式探讨

The Study of Information Flow in Text

语篇是一个信息流动、更替的过程。已知信息为信息的起点,位于后一个信息单元的主位;新信息常常位于前一个信息单元的述位。在信息转移中,前一个信息单元的述位信息通过信息选择、临时概念构建等方式流动到后一个信息单元的主位,引出新信息,参与到新一轮的信息流动。最终营造出整个语篇连贯流畅、浑然一体的效果。

Text involves a process of information flow and exchange. The information is usually divided into two kinds, new information and given one. Given information, as a starting point for the information, is already situational evoked and often placed in the Theme. The new information, mainly about what' s happening, is frequently placed in the rheme. Through principles of selection and temporary cocept formation, the information in the rheme of the former information nunit transfers to the theme in the latter information unit, starts new information and get involved in the new turn. In this way, the whole text builds up to be a coherent, closely-related one.
