The Resolving of “Adam Smith Problem" in Contemporary China

"亚当·斯密问题"产生于斯密思想体系的内在矛盾,其实质是经济与伦理、经济学与伦理学的关系问题,这一问题困惑西方社会两个多世纪。中国社会主义市场经济的核心矛盾是集体主义与个体主义之间的矛盾,与"亚当·斯密问题"异曲同工;"亚当·斯密问题"在中国的化解,是社会主义制度优越性的体现,源于集体主义与个体主义的和谐统一。

"Adam Smith problem" stem from the inherent contradictions in Smith’s system of thought.The essence of it is the economy and ethics,the relationship between economics and ethics which puzzled the Western societies for more than two centuries.The core contradiction of China’s socialist market economy is the contradiction between collectivism and individualism,which is different in approach but equally satisfactory in result with "Adam Smith problem".The problem resolving in China resulted from the harmony of collectivism and individualism and is a manifestation of the superiority of the socialist system.
