Accurate Comprehension of Constructivist Translation Standards on EST

尊重知识的客观性、保证理解的合理性和解释的普遍有效性、保持原文的定向性是构建主义理论的三个翻译标准。就科技文本而言,尊重知识的客观性即原文和译文要在知识和语言上不违背客观真理;保证理解的合理性要求译者把握原文的核心信息;解释的有效性指译者有义务对原文中的缺失信息进行补全;保持原文的定向性即译文要具备科技文体的特征。结合科技文体自身的特征正确理解建构主义翻译标准,能够更好地服务于翻译实践。

This paper describes how to comprehend the constructivist translation standards accurately in the field of EST so as to apply this theory to translation practice well.Constructivist proposes three standards;obedience to objective knowledge,rationality in understanding the sci-tech source texts and validity in interpretation,and conformity to the directionality of EST texts.Taking the contents and writing style of EST into consideration,obedience to objectivity of EST texts means translation should never conflict with the knowledge of the objective world;rationality in understanding and validity in interpretation means translation should keep the key information of the original texts and make up the lost information of the author;conformity to the directionality to EST texts refers to that the translation should be equipped with the writing characteristics of the original EST texts.
