Mental Symptoms under Respective of “Searching”——Further Reflection on Gardening by Su Tong

苏童小说《园艺》通过叙述对失踪父亲的寻找,进而一层层的审视、解剖"父亲"的形象,最终以"父死"为代价来换取子辈的成长。然而更深层次的意蕴则在于作者以"四两拨千斤"之力,通过白描式语言在"寻父"的过程中揭示了现实社会的荒谬与阴暗。

In Su Tong’s novel of Gardening,the image of the missing father is reviewed and displayed step by step through searching for him,and the growth of children is based on the death of father finally. However,the more profound implication of the novel is that the author,by skillful writing method and descriptive language,displayed the absurdity and darkness of society during the process of searching for father.
