Shangyanjing Village, the door to Tibet on the Ancient Tea-horse Road and a place once thrived because of its salt production, still owns the only salt field of the world that has survived intact after so many centuries and the ancient salt-making technique. Here by the salty fountain, a gift from Mother Nature, women with buckles on their back, pour brine to their salt fields in their own backyards. This special view of hundreds of salt fields is quite spectacular by the Zhaqu River.
