Building Marine Eco-Culture and Maritime Power

中国数千年来作为世界海洋文明强国,致力于“天下一体”“四海一家”,海洋和平、“天下太平”,自然利用海洋和开发海洋的生态文化智慧。当今中国不可重蹈西方“海洋强国”模式,必须建构环中国海各国各地区之间在相互尊重主权、维护主权权益基础上的“不争”机制和制度,建成环中国海文化共同体,实现环中国海海洋和平,进而实现“天下大同”。

For hundreds of years, China, as a nation of strong marine culture, has been committed to peace, harmony and unity during the exploration of the oceans and practices the eco-culture wisdom to utilize and develop the ocean. Now it should avoid the pitfalls of the western marine powers and establish a friendly and non-contentious approach and mechanism on the basis of a mutual respect for sovereignty and interests. It aims to build "a community of common destiny" for peace and harmony based on the South China Sea region.
