Liupanshan Town, a Key Pass on the Silk Road of Han and Tang

宁夏固原六盘山千年古镇,位于宁甘陕三省交界地带。秦汉萧关镇扼北部边关,秦皇汉武曾在这里频布战云、拓土开疆,丝路古道经过这里连通欧亚传承文明,毛泽东曾在这里激扬文字、指点江山……今日六盘山镇保护利用和挖掘山水、人文、古建等特色资源,发展生态旅游和绿色产业,使千年古镇焕发生机。

Liupanshan of Guyuan, Ningxia, is a town more than 1,000 years old, which located at the border area among Ningxia, Gansu and Shaanxi. As early as it was in the Qin and Han dynasties, Xiaoguan Pass was erected here to defend the border, and the great emperors of the two dynasties stationed forces in Liupanshan to expand territory while the Silk Road traveled through the pass to connect different civilizations in Asia and Europe. Chairman Mao Zedong of the People’s Republic of China once wrote a poem about the place. Today, the town government is dedicated to well preserving both natural and historic heritage of Liupanshan, and fully utilizing green industries such as eco-friendly tourism to bring a new economic boom.
