Commonly known as the "bull’s fight", the mysterious bullfighting custom in the Moon Mountains of Congjiang is the indispensable entertainment in the daily life of the Mao and Dong ethnic groups. This is said to be originated nearly 2,000 years ago in the Three Kingdoms Period. Back then, Zhuge Liang, also named Kongming, built the "Kongming Bullfighting Hall" in the Moon Mountains, hoping that people of all ethnic groups in the area could live and work in peace and contentment. From then on, the conflicts between men were replaced by the fights between bulls. Based on the principle of "friendship first, competition second", the tradition was passed down from generation to generation.
