Desertification and Its Prevention

我们可以把荒漠生态系统比喻为地球的'脾',脾主土,为气血生化之源、后天之本,承担了自然界分解细化、初级土壤制造和保育功能。荒漠化,特别是沙化问题,是全球性生态环境问题。相比其它生态系统,荒漠生态系统显得异常脆弱,一旦破坏,难以恢复。防治荒漠化就是要通过人与生态系统的相互作用,修复由于人为原因导致的生态系统服务功能的丧失和退化。

The ecosystem of deserts is often compared to the spleen of the earth because it is responsible for fostering primary earth. Desertification, especially land sandification, is a global environmental issue. The ecosystem of deserts is extremely fragile compared with other ones, and once it is damaged, it can hardly be restored. To prevent desertification is to remedy the loss and degradation of ecosystem function caused by human activities through the man-ecosystem interactions.
