Meixi Tribe of Taiwan: Beneath the Beautiful Tranquility Lie Wildness and Toughness

台湾地区南投县南丰村眉溪部落的赛德克人,是高山族的一支,拥有独特的生命信仰和狩猎、编织、纹面、音乐、语言、歌谣与舞蹈等传统风俗。赛德克人从大自然获取织染原料,服饰以红色为主,彰显着乐观积极的民族精神。随着部落文化旅游日渐兴起,眉溪部落恢复了'年祭''播种祭'和'收获祭',重新建造了濒临灭绝的传统谷仓和半穴居家屋。

Sediq, who belongs to Meixi Tribe in Nanfeng Village, Nantou County, Taiwan, is a branch of Gaoshan People. Sediqs have their own religious belief and traditional customs like hunting, weaving, face-tattoo, music, languages, folk songs and dancing. They use natural dyeing materials and wear red clothes, a very upbeat nationality with born optimism. With the rising tribe tourism, it has resumed its traditional sacrificing ceremonies, which are held annually or in sowing season or in harvest. It has also rebuilt the traditional barns and half-carved residences, which are on the verge of going extinction.
