A Glimpse of Baishou Town, a Village of Longevity

广西桂林永福县百寿镇是著名的长寿之乡,自古就有'水旱无忧三千垌,十里常逢百岁人'之说。被中外史学家誉为中国'文字太阳系'、保存有我国同字异体书法史上字体最多的古代摩崖石刻'百寿图'、目前我国保存最完好的明代永宁州古城和建于隋唐时期的穿岩古驿道,见证了古镇悠久的历史和曾经的繁盛。

Baishou Town of Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a famous "longevity village" in China. Since ancient times, the town has been insulated from major floods and droughts, a shelter of a large number of long-living people. A giant rocket face in a cave here is inscribed with the same Chinese word of the most calligraphic styles, the word "longevity" written in 100 styles. Therefore, it is lauded as anencyclopedia of Chinese Calligraphy by domestic and international historians. The town boasts the best-preserved Yongningzhou ancient city, which was built in the Ming Dynasty some 500 years ago, and a courier route from the Tang Dynasty. These historic relics are all testimony to its profound history and the past prosperity.
