Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi

I have taught mathematics to many brilliant students for over forty years in China and in Cambridge University. Guan Zhao-zhi was the most brilliant of them all. All branches of mathematics came within his rapid and deep understanding, and he moved easily through comprehension to creative research and inspiring teaching. Because he combined outstanding intelligence with great industry and skilful organisation of his work, he achieved a great contribution to mathematical knowledge and to China’s scientific progress.
