The theories and practice of running the armed forced by law in ancient China have left over a lot of treasured enlightenment and reference for the contemporary military legal construction and the implementation of running the armed forces by law with the special Chinese characteristics. There will be no army without laws. Enforcing and maintaining strict military discipline is the foundation for running the armed forces. The armed forces should be run by law. The laws should be clearly regulated. By drawing a clear-cut line between reward and punishment, the laws should be strictly enforced.
