无论从语法角度还是从历史事实看,《左传》《史记》所记鲁哀公十年吴军"伐齐南鄙"中的"海上攻齐"一役并非海战,此役不过是吴国由海上前去进攻齐国而已。此外,春秋时并没有"领海"和"海域"等概念,而且那时的吴国和齐国也均不可能建设有一支"海上水师"。《考略》一文的作者所以得出了"海上攻齐"一役属海战的结论以及其他一些错误观点,是因为断章取义地错解了有关史料。

From the viewpoints of both grammar and historic facts, the 'maritime attack on the Qi' launched by the army of the State of Wu in the sixth reign year of Duke Lu Ai, which is recorded in Tso Chuan(a commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals) and Shih Chi, was not a naval battle. As far as this battle is concerned, the fact is that the State of Wu attacked the State of Qi on the sea. In addition, during the Spring and Autumn period, there was neither the concept of 'territorial sea' nor the concept of 'sea area.' At that time, neither the state of Wu and the State of Qi had the ability to establish a navy. Therefore, because of the misunderstanding of the related historic data, the author of A Brief Review of the 'Maritime Attack on the Qi' Launched by the Army of the State of Wu draws a conclusion that the 'maritime attack on the Qi' launched by the army of the State of Wu was a naval battle as well as other wrong views.
