Region, Stratagems and Practice: Shandong Elements in the Thirty-six Stratagems

《三十六计》是根据我国古代卓越的军事思想和丰富的斗争经验总结而成的一部兵书。从内容考察,与山东颇有渊源,它蕴含了山东地域的许多元素。首先,"三十六计"之名称及其诸多计名之由来因山东人而成就;其次,《三十六计》中的"奇谋方略"多源自山东人的兵学思想,尤其是孙子的思想;再次,《三十六计》按语中援引的"经典战例"多为山东兵家、将帅的实践运用。这从一个侧面反应了古代山东兵学的地位和成就。

The Thirty-six Stratagems is a military book which summarizes the ancient excellent Chinese military thinking and rich warring experience. From the viewpoint of its contents, this book has a close relationship with Shandong, since it contains many elements of the Shandong region. First, the name of 'thirty-six stratagems' and the names of many stratagems originated from the achievements secured by Shandong people. Second, most of the stratagems in The Thirty-six Stratagems originated from the military thinking of Shandong people, especially Sun Zi's thinking. Third, the classical war cases cited by The Thirty-six Stratagems were practiced and applied by the high-ranking military officers in Shandong. All these show the position and achievement of the ancient military science in Shandong.
