A Study on the Daoist Shi Chongxuan in the Revolutions from Zhou to Tang

唐代著名道士史崇玄顯赫一時的生命軌跡,與周唐鼎革的政治局勢關係密切。由於參與太平公主勢力,並在李唐復興初期做出不少貢獻,史崇玄數年之間獲得多次昇遷,成為大唐道教的最高領袖。然而,也正是由於過度捲入政治鬥爭,最終落得隨太平公主一同傾覆的悲慘結果。對史崇玄此段經歷的討論,有助於從道教視角深化對周唐鼎革之際波譎雲詭的政治史變遷的認識。

The famous Tang Daoist Shi Chongxuan’s life track was closely related to the political situation from Wu Zhou to Li Tang.Shi Chongxuan made some contributions for the reestablishment of Tang.As a result,he was promoted several times in a very short period and became the supreme Daoist leader in the whole empire.However,because of his deep involvement in the political struggles,he ended tragically.The study on Shi Chongxuan’s life in this complex period will be helpful to deepen the understanding of the mysterious political changes in these'revolutions'from a religious perspective.
