高校外语类保送生学习质量研究——以华南理工大学商务英语专业为例

A Probe into Learning Quality of Foreign Language Students Recommended for Admission in Universities——Taking Business English Major in South China University of Technology as an Example

摘要 高校外语类保送生制度已存在多年,但保送生的学习质量却鲜有人研究。本文以华南理工大学外国语学院2012—2015级高考生和保送生为研究样本,纵向对比其学习进步情况,分析高考生与保送生学习质量差异及其原因。研究发现,相较于高考生,保送生群体普遍具有专业基础上较好,但学习动力不足,学习能力不佳,精力分配不够合理,稳定追求尚未成形的特征,以至于在后期学习表现上不如高考生,学习质量偏弱。因此,高校应审慎招收保送生,加强与中学的联系,推动选拔制度进一步合理化,建立特殊培养模式。 The system of recommending foreign language students for admission to universities has been put into practice for decades,while there is still little investigation into learning quality of those students.Taking students of grade 2012—2015 in Foreign Languages School of South China University of Technology as research samples,a vertical comparison of learning progress between students admitted by recommendation and students admitted by College Entrance Examination results is carried out to look into the differences in their learning quality and seek relevant reasons.It is found that the common features and problems of students admitted by recommendation are that they generally have a solid linguistic foundation,with insufficient learning motivation,poor learning ability,unreasonable energy distribution,and unclear orientation of pursuit,thus leading to their inferior learning performance in later stage as compared with students admitted by College Entrance Examination,which signifies their mediocre learning quality.Therefore,universities should prudently recruit students by recommendation,strengthen the contact with secondary schools,promote a more reasonable system of selection,and establish a special training model.
