The Role of Zhouli in the Seventh and Eighth Century Civil Administrative Traditions

《周礼》在唐代前期的国家治理中发挥了重要作用,不仅体现在官职设置上,而且体现在道德崇尚、国家礼仪制度制定、治国理政实践等方面。《周礼》在唐代创立时期、武后统治时期、玄宗统治时期以及"安史之乱"后半个世纪均扮演着重要的角色。唐代统治者、官僚以及士大夫阶层对《周礼》也有不同的态度和评价,《周礼》的内涵复杂,但对后世的影响十分显著。唐代既尊重古代经典,又审慎地对待传统的变革,且因时而变,这带给我们重要启示。

This article illustrates the general meaning and role of ZhouLi in the early and mid Tang Dynasty.In the author’s opinion,ZhouLi played an important role in the civil administration in the early-and-mid Tang Dynasty,which is shown not only in the that establishment of posts,but also in advocating morality,the state ritual system and state administration.The author states that the role of ZhouLi in the court of Taizong,the court of Empress Wu,the reign of Xuanzong and the Post-rebellion Period,reviews the different attitudes and assessment from governors,political hierarchy and scholarly elites,and reveals the complex meaning of ZhouLi and its influence on the following generations as an ancient authoritative classic.In the author’s opinion,the Tang Dynasty respects the ancient classics,takes a serious attitude to the changes of tradition and makes reform over time,which is an important inspiration for us.
