高等学校大学生组织是由大学生组成、以实现大学生发展为目的的学校组织,是现代大学的重要组成部分。大学生组织的形成和发展与社会现状,特别是政治形势密切联系,经历了早期形成、发展和新型发展阶段的历史变迁。在中国高等教育发展不同历史时期,受社会背景和大学发展阶段影响,不同时期的大学生组织发挥着为国家经济建设服务、促进大学生个性化发展、改善大学秩序、推动大学生工作改革、增强思想政治教育功能、提升大学生综合素质和丰富校园文化等作用。

Student organizations, as an important part of modern institutes of higher learning, are supposed to consist of college students on campus and aim at realizing the students' own growth and development. The formation and development of student organizations in the Chinese colleges and universities, which are closely associated with the status quo of society, especially political situations, have experienced the passages of initial establishment, development and the latest development in historical changes. Influenced by social background and school development in different periods of the Chinese higher education, the student organizations have been functioning as serving the national economic construction, promoting the personal development of college students, pushing forward the reform of student work, strengthening the role of ideological and political education, promoting the comprehensive quality of college students, enriching campus culture, etc.
