试论陈援庵先生的学术精神

On Chen Yuan’s Academic Spirit

陈垣先生是一位具有时代典型与代表性的学者,我们不仅要继承他的史学遗产,还要继承他的精神遗产。其学术精神源自厓山忠烈故事及新会家乡文化传统,又经中华民族优秀传统文化、近代科学和马克思主义理论之滋养,由'钱、顾、全、毛'之思想进路,形成完美而成熟的援庵学术精神。援庵学术精神包括五个方面的内涵:第一,自由、平等与民主的近代精神;第二,实事求是的科学精神;第三,爱国主义与民族精神;第四,对中华传统文化的坚定自信与传统士人精神;第五,现实关怀的人文精神。援庵学术精神具有重要的当代价值,其一生追求,契合今天的社会主义核心价值观。他学养纯厚,善于在逆境中坚守中华民族传统文化,发掘传统文化的价值,并在继承中创新,为我们今天的'文化自信'树立了一个典型和榜样。我们应当学习陈垣先生自强不息的精神,发挥其学术精神的当代价值,践行社会主义核心价值观,坚定文化自信,复兴中华民族。

Chen Yuan was a representative scholar at his time,so not only his learning but his spirit should be carried on.His academic spirit was influenced by the stories of martyrs of Yashan,as well as the cultural tradition in his hometown,Xinhui,then it was influenced by the excellent Chinese traditional culture,the modern science and Marxism.At last,it formed through a procedure from thought of Qian daxin,Gu Tinglin and Quanzuwang,to that of Mao Zedong.His spirit consists five parts:first,the modern spirit of freedom,equality and democracy,second,the scientific spirit of seeking truth from facts,third,patriotism and national spirit;fourth,the confidence on Chinese traditional culture and Intellectual spirit,fifth,the humanistic spirit of concerning practical problems.Chen Yuan’s lifelong pursuit is in keeping with core socialist values.His was good at persevering traditional culture in adversity,exploring the value of the traditional culture,and innovating constantly,which set us a paradigm of'cultural self-confidence'.We should learn Chen Yuan’s striving spirit,and explore its contemporary value and practice the core socialist values,in addition,we should strengthen cultural self-confidence and invigorate the Chinese nation.
