Discussion on ZHANG Jingyue’s Theory of Diabetes

张景岳对消渴的独到认识 ,集中在《景岳全书·杂证谟·三消干渴》篇中 ,概括起来有如下三个方面 :三消多虚 ,其根在肾 ,阐发火亏之消 ;审查阴阳 ,辨别虚实 ,勿犯虚虚之戒 ;重肾重补 ,圆机活法 ,创釜底加薪之法。张景岳对阳虚火亏致消的独到认识 ,创用温补肾阳治消之法 ,开后世益气温阳法治疗消渴之先河 ,不但丰富了消渴的治疗方法 。

ZHANG Jingyue’s original view of diabetes was recorded in the Complete Works of ZHANG Jingyue. It can be summarized as the following. Diabetes is characterized by deficiency of kidney. Efforts should be made to differentiate deficiency from excess, and yin from yang, and to invigorate kidney. His original view that diabetes is caused by yang deficiency and should be treated by warming the kidney yang has been the forerunner of the method of replenishing qi and warming yang for diabetes. It not only enriched therapeutic methods, but also promoted the development of theories of treating diabetes.
