Therefore, the exploita-tion of the west of China is an important measure taken by China in the new century as well as challenge for China to face the globalization of economy so as to make use of every favorable condition that has been brought by the globalization to promote harmonious development of the east and west areas of the country, to strengthen the competitive power of the country to ensure that the country will be prosperous and strong enough to hold its position among other nations.
