The Position of vocabulary In College English Reading

大学高年级学生在英语阅读中经常会遇到理解上的困难,词汇意义和用法方面的误解是造成阅读困难的主要原因。对词汇的多种词义、常用词的非常用法以及俚语、习惯语等知识的欠缺,致使学生往往从字面上来理解词义,于是造成了领会词句含义上的肤浅和错误。本文拟就笔者在教学中发现的问题进行一些分析和研究。

College students often come across some comprehension problems in their advanced reading. It has been proved that the student's misunderstanding and misuse of words is the main cause of their inefficient reading. They tend to take words literally which cause superficial and mistaken understanding because of a lack of the knowledge of vocabulary with many meanings, unusual use, slang, proverbs and idioms. This article analyses and studies the problems found in teaching.
