《红楼梦》中俗语的翻译初探

On the Translation of Common Sayings in A Dream of Red Mansions

《红楼梦》是我国的一部古典名著,书中语言生动形象,具有丰富而深邃的民族文化内涵。通过对《红楼梦》中俗语的译文进行分析,本文探讨了汉语俗语英译的处理方法,论述了翻译中汉语俗语的处理要从语篇入手,选择恰当的翻译方法,再进而选词用字,以求达意传神。

A Dream of Red Mansions, a famous classical literary work in China, is noted for its vivid language as well as its unique national and cultural connotation. By analyzing the English version of common sayings in the novel, this paper attempts to probe into methods of translating Chinese common sayings. It is opined that priority should be given to the context, translation methods and diction in the translation of common sayings. 
