19世纪兴起的英国文官考试制度起源于中国科举,这一制度成为欧美各国文官考试制度的蓝本。然而,当西方吸取中国科举制度精华并使之制度现代化的同时,中国科举制度却在自己的故乡走向了衰亡。分析两者不同命运的目的在于揭示考试制度与社会性质之间的相互影响。

Originating from the imperial examination system of China, the 19th-century British examination system for civil officials is the original version for similar examination systems in various Western nations. However, while it has been drawn upon and modernized in the West, the Chinese imperial examination system has faded in its native land. This paper aims to analyze the different experiences of the imperial examination system to reveal the interplay between examination systems and society.
