The Historical Evolvement about Matchmaker in Ancient Times of China

对“媒”产生、发展的历史考察分析认为 ,“媒”在中国古代社会除了担任婚姻中介人这一主要职能之外 ,还在各个历史时期体现出丰富的社会文化内涵 。

This article analyzes the historical evolvement of matchmaker in ancient times of China and maintains that the ancient matchmakers not only played the role of medium in marriage and embodied abundant social and cultural connotations in their own historical periods but also displayed a grand historical painting of folk custom and social scene.
