There is authoritative structure in science. Scientists are universally recognized as authoritative in the field of science because of their outstanding contributions to science.In the academic circles, there are different opinions about the role of scientific authority. According to the scientific history, the paper analyses mainly the positive function and the negative influence of scientific authority in the development of science, and discusses the countermeasures to reduce or avoid the negative influence.
