Difference of Cultural Connotations between English and Chinese Words

英汉民族的语言都有自己的内涵。这些民族的价值观念、道德规范、宗教信仰、风俗习惯等都可以从英汉 词汇文化内涵方面进行探析,从而弄清其在社会意识形态、民俗、联想意义、蕴含意义空缺等方面所存在的一些差异, 旨在引起人们对英汉两种语言和文化的对比学习和研究的重要性的认识。

English and Chinese nations both have their own language connotations. This paper, aiming at arising the attention of the importance in comparing study between English and Chinese languages and cultures,probes into and analyzes the two nations' value concept, code of ethics, religious belief and custom in words' cultural connotations, and reveals the differences between social ideology, folk custom,association meaning and the vacancy of implication meaning between two parties.
