吴汝纶与冀州的文教

Wurulun and the Culture and Education in Jizhou

吴汝纶是清末著名学者,他在任冀州知州期间,筹经费、聘名师、重实学,大力发展地方文教事业。吴汝纶以经史有用之学进行讲授,超出了应试的范围,使冀州书院的官学化倾向有所转变。其后任莲池书院院长,创办西文学堂,招收的学生也以冀州人为多。吴汝纶的兴学重教,培养了大批人才,促进了冀州的早期近代化。

Wurulun was the famous scholar of the late period of Qing Dynasty. He raised money,invited the famous teachers and attached importance to the practice science,and developed the local culture and education energetically when he held the post in Jizhou.He gave lectures according to the useful knowledge of the history and the scriptures and this outstriped the scope of exam-oriented education and impel some changing of the official thought of Jizhou Academy. Later he,as the director of Lianchi Academy, established the schools of western culture and most of the students attached importance to the education.He educated large numbers of talented persons and promoted the development in the early period of Jizhou.
