平原省虽然只存在三年多时间,但在治黄防汛、筑堰固堤、兴修水利等方面做了基础性的治理工作,为日后根绝黄河水患、变害为利的大规模综合治理争取了时间,提供了经验借鉴,对新中国的经济建设作出了重要贡献.

Though Pingyuan Province existed more than three years,a lot of basic work had been done in engineering the Yellow River,prevention of flood, building and strengthening its bands. These work saved more time to prevent from flood completely later,and for systems to change the harmfal into the useful. The province had made a lot of experiences and remarkable contributions to the economic construction.
