Ruled surface is a curved surface most commonly met on dies of body outer panels ,and has its peculialities and difficulties in modelling me thod .This paper tries to make a detailed analysis of the modelling peculiarities of dies of various body outer panels with ruled surfaces, and to introduce the natural numeral method, arc length parametrization, chord length parametrization, symbol and mark method, and recreating segment method of constructing the ruled surfaces.
