前言 婴儿期营养可影响婴儿的健康、体格与智力发育乃至终身的饮食习惯,因而非常重要.在胃肠道发育与健康、免疫功能、缺乏病预防以及成人健康状态等方面,营养亦发挥重要作用.营养素缺乏在中国仍很普遍,其中铁、维生素A、碘、锌和核黄素的缺乏广泛流行.身材矮小、对疾病的高度易感性、体力和智力发育不良、学习能力缺乏、生产力低下、慢性病发生的危险性增高、卫生费用增加以及国民经济发展缓慢等因素,可能是营养素缺乏症引起的结果.本文拟就有关发表的资料作一综述.

Infant feeding is important for mental and physical growth and development of the infant. Without adequate nutrient intake malnutrition is likely to occur with the consequences of inferior physical and mental development. Nutrient deficiencies through metabolic programming, may have long-term impact on food habits and chronic health. It is therefore, imperative that infants are given the best nutrition the market has to offer and parents can provide. Breastfeeding and providing the infant with a wide selection of high quality, safe and nutritious complementary foods provide the best start in life.
