悲观主题是哈代作品中永恒的主题 ,而这种主题不仅体现在内容中 ,有时还反映在他所采用的形式和结构上。这种特点在《无名的裘德》一书中尤为明显。
Cosmic pessimism is the overriding theme of Thomas Hardy's fiction in general, and of his Jude the Obscure in particular. Subscribing to stylistic monism about the inseparability between form and content, this paper shows how in Hardy's above-mentioned masterpiece, there is an almost perfect fit between its structural patterns and its pessimistic themes.
