Establishing a Mechanism for Competition as an Inevitable Course for the Development of China's Higher Education

随着市场经济的发展 ,在高等学校办学上建立一定的竞争机制是必然的。本文认为 ,要在高校建立竞争机制 ,就必须全面推行弹性学分制度 ,推行高等教育评估制度 ,推行教师教学工作考核制度及奖励制度 。

Along with the development of the market economy, establishing an appropriate mechanism for competition is sure to be an inevitable course in running institutions of higher learning. This article argues that establishment of a mechanism for competition in the institutions of higher learning necessitates adoption of a comprehensive and elastic credit system, a system of evaluation for higher education, a system of teacher assessment and award, and an administrative system with course control as its core.
