The effects of a heat-stress-resistant Chinese herbal additive on the performance of commercial pigs

选择出生日期一致(±1天)、体重相近的(23±3.0千克)小猪30头,随机分成2组,每组15头,分别为对照组(基础日粮组)和试验组。试验日粮为基础日粮+抗热应激中草药饲料添加剂。添加抗热应激中草药饲料添加剂使猪体重增加8.7％,饲料利用率提高12.4％,每干克增重的饲料成本降低8.3％。

30 pigs of a uniform birth date ( ± 1 d) with similar body weights (23 ± 3. 0 kg) were assigned to one of two dietary treatments of 15 pigs each. They were fed a control diet (basal diet) and a test diet (basal diet + heat-stress-resistant Chinese herbal additive). The heat-stress-resistant Chinese herbal additive resulted in an increase of 8.7% in body weight, an improvement of 12. 4% in feed efficiency, and a decrease of 8.3% in cost of feed per kg of weight gain.
