Using the comparability results about boundedness and compactness of composition operators, this paper proved that C -φ is compact on the weighted Dirichlet-type spaces D +p -α( 1≤p<2α≤2,or {1≤p<1+α } and α>1) if and only if φ has no angular derivative on D.
