There is a village named Peibai in the northeas tern end of Wenxi County. Out of the 200 hous eholds, 50 are s ur-named Pei. Becaus e of being a cornu-copia of prime minis ters, the village has been nicknamed "The First Village of Prime Minis ters in China". According to the genealogic records of the Peis, they produced a total of 59 prime minis ters in the his tory of feudal China, among them Pei Du being the most famous one. As the birthday of Pei Du, a prime minis ter under the Xianz ong reign the Tang Dynas ty, fell on the third day of March, s o that day has been des ignated as a day for ances tral wors hipping. Every third day of March, many des cendants of the Pei family congregate in the village to pay res pects to their ances tors. To continue the culture of the Peis, the Peibai Village is to open up a couple of tourist projects centered on the his tory and culture of the Pei’s family.
