Concubines, a unique female school in the society of polygamy, endure cultural oppression ring upon ring. Although the personality and attitude toward life influence their existence state, their destinies are similar: lose the ego——perhaps their life, and perhaps their personality. Their tragedy is the bitter fruit resulting from the culture of male power grade in the light of the dark human nature.
