文学翻译须把握好原作的思想和意象

文学作品是作者世界观的体现 ,现实社会的映象 ,民族精神的赞颂 ,深邃意境的展示。同时 ,作为社会意识形态一部分的文学作品无不打上阶级的烙印 ,每个时期作家的作品都受到一定文化背景和思想体系的影响。在文学作品的翻译过程中 ,如果缺乏对这方面的深刻理解 ,就不能准确生动地再现原文。同样 ,意象是构成诗歌意境的重要组成部分 ,把握不准诗歌中的各种意象就不能很好地欣赏诗歌 ,更谈不上得心应手地翻译它。

Literary works are the revealment of the writers world outlook, the reflection of a realistic society, extolment of national spirits and the manifestation of profound images. Besides, literary works, as a part of social ideology, are bound to bear the brand of a class without any exception. Literary works in different periods of time are influenced by different cultural backgrounds or different ideological systems. A literary translator cannot reproduce the original vividly and exactly if he has only a superficial understanding of all this. And similarly, image is an important part to form the artistic conception of the poem. Without a good grasp of the various images in poetry, a good appreciation is impossible, not to speak of translating a poem with high proficiency.
