According to statistics from U. S. Commerce Department,the GDP in 2017 grew by 2. 3 percent,higher than that of 2016 but much lower than what U. S. president Donald Trump had expected previously. GDP growth rate reached the same level as that of 2010. This,in some respects,demonstrated that economic policies put forward by Trump Administration failed to make a stronger impetus on the U. S. economy. Compared with the same period in 2016,U. S. titanium ingot production increased by 24 percent in 2017 and its shipments were almost unchanged over the same period. Titanium mill production in 2017 was slightly less than that of 2016. Sponge and ingot import increased by 48. 15 percent and 124. 96 percent,respectively in 2017. Sponge and ingot export increased by 342. 69 percent and 16. 5 percent,respectively in 2017.
