'忠孝节义'作为封建社会的核心价值观,其最早出处史无定论。一般来说,学界普遍认为其最早出现在宋人洪迈的《夷坚志》中。其实,《旧唐书·薛仁贵传》中'忠孝节义'四字已连用,《魏书》中亦有'忠孝节义'的提法。'忠孝节义'是对封建社会三纲五常核心价值体系的精炼,但其广泛流行是在宋明重建儒家纲常伦理秩序后,并借助民间俗文化的传播而家喻户晓,尽人皆知。封建社会核心价值观'忠孝节义'的提炼和传播,对我们今天弘扬社会主义核心价值观有很好的借鉴意义和启示作用。

As the core values of the feudal society,the origin of loyalty,filial piety,chastity and righteousness was not clearly defined in history.Generally speaking,it was widely believed that it first appeared in the book,entitled Yi Jian Zhi,written by Hong Mai in the Song Dynasty.In fact,the four Chinese characters of loyalty,filial piety,chastity and righteousness had appeared in The Book of the Old Tang·the Biography of Xue Rengui,yet,these four characters,when used together,had appeared much earlier in Wei Shu.They were refined from the core value system of the three basic rules and five constant virtues in the feudal society,but they became widely popular in the Song Dynasty after the Confucian ethical order was rebuilt in the Song and Ming Dynasty,together with the famous folk popular culture,became even more widespread and well-known.The refinement and dissemination of such core values of the feudal society as loyalty,filial piety,chastity and righteousness are of good referential and enlightening significance for us to carry forward today’s socialist core values.
