An analysis of Paul Valery’s metapoetic aesthetics through the lens of the poems Narcisse

深受马拉美诗学思想的影响,保尔·瓦莱里在创作中不断思索着诗歌的主体性和内在意识,创作了不少"元诗"。他的"元诗"意识和凝视自我倒影的纳喀索斯之间有着密切的相似性。这个神话形象既是诗人"纯诗"理念的载体,也是他诗歌美学思想和诗学方法的一个符号,还是诗人思考诗歌与其本体、人与自我关系的象征。

Influenced by the poetic thought of Stéphane Mallarmé,Paul Valéry has been meditating on the subjectivity and self-awareness of poetry,and created many metapoetries.There is a close similarity between his consciousness of metapoetry and Narcissus who contemplates himself at the edge of the fountain.This myth is the carrier of his concept of'pure poetry',a sign of its aesthetics and poetic method,but also a symbol of the relationship between poetry and per se,between man and himself.
