学习者口译产出中的停顿——一项基于中国大学生口译语料库的研究 被引量:8

摘要 停顿是口译中的一个普遍现象,也是判断口译产出是否流利的重要指标之一。本研究考察了中国大学生口译语料库(PACCEL-S)中的高、中、低三个不同水平组109个汉英口译样本中的停顿情况。研究结果表明,总体上,学习者汉英口译产出中有声停顿发生率高于无声停顿;在水平差异对比中,高水平与中等水平组和高水平与低水平组在两类停顿上均存在显著差异,中等水平与低水平组在有声停顿上存在显著差异;停顿的发生率与口译水平之间存在关联,当学习者的口译水平达到一定差距时,水平越高停顿发生率越低;性别差异的对比中,不同性别学生在有声停顿的发生率上差异显著,女学生倾向于多用停顿填充词;停顿位置上,停顿主要发生在名词、动词、形容词等实词前,可以推断实词提取困难是导致学习者汉英口译产出中停顿的主要原因之一。 Pause is a common phenomenon in the process of interpreting and one of the important indicators to judge whether the interpreting is fluent.The present study investigates the pauses in three groups of 109 EFL learners’Chinese-English interpreting in PACCEL-S Corpus.The results suggest that,in general,the occurrence of filled pauses in Chinese English interpreting is higher than that of unfilled pause.Significant differences were found by comparing the groups at high levels with the groups at medium and low levels with regard to the occurrence of both filled and unfilled pauses,while the groups of medium levels and low levels only shows the significant difference in filled pauses.There is a correlation between the occurrence of pauses and interpreting proficiency.When it reaches a certain gap,the higher the level,the lower the rate of pause.Moreover,significant gender difference is identified.Female students are more prone to use filled pauses than males do.The results also suggest that pauses mainly occur before content words(e.g.nouns,verbs,adjectives etc.),and it can be inferred that the difficulty in extraction of content words is the main reason for these pauses.
